Weatherization Inspector

Job Description:
The Weatherization Energy Auditor/Quality Control Inspector conducts energy assessments and audits through the collection of site -specific data for the purpose of making energy, environmental and structural improvements. Recommends and prioritizes energy improvements based on cost effectiveness, return on investment, and as required by various funding sources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform and report advanced heating system diagnostic testing including combustion analyses, draft, and flue and ambient carbon monoxide levels.
  • Prepare/review materials and labor estimates, using approved computer software, based on on-site assessment and funding source requirements.
  • Effectively learn and use a variety of software applications as assigned.
  • Utilize required software to deliver timely work scopes and reports.
  • Collect and report comprehensive field data from energy audit/assessments and enter into appropriate audit software.
  • Review for accuracy and thoroughness the formal work scopes prepared by others.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with customer to ensure understanding of the work performed and overall satisfaction with weatherization experience.
  • Perform and report Quality Assurance Inspections of work completed by agency staff and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain required training and industry certifications/licensing necessary for ongoing professional credentialing.
  • Attends all Kentucky Housing Corporation Learn REE required trainings.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer two (2) years of experience in Weatherization Assistance or related Energy Conservation Efficiency.
  • Knowledge of building science, residential construction, and best practices in weatherization protocols.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of mathematics/calculations customary to building trades industry.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.

Typical work week - Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Salary range $37,500 - $45,500

Job Description:
Provide accurate and unbiased information to help individual residents of Kentucky understand and enroll in a health insurance plan through one-on-one interactions, group presentations, public events, or activities. Protect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the enrollment of primarily your assigned area and conduct related outreach activities.
  • Facilitate consumer and employer enrollment and outreach activities.
  • Complete required training courses developed by Kentucky Health Benefit Exchange and the Federal Funded Market Place and receive a passing score of at least 80 percent to become certified.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act and Kentucky’s Health Care Exchange.
  • Travel in Franklin, Scott and Woodford Counties to consumers and other locations in order to assist with enrollment activities.
  • Provide unbiased guidance on the Exchange in a face-to-face setting, including in consumers’ home.
  • Adequately answer consumers’ questions about enrollment.
  • Refer consumers to Agents, consumer assistance agencies as specified by KHBE, or the Call Center when guidance is needed.
  • Assist in the processing of appeals for consumers in the Exchange.
  • Process re-enrollment in the Exchange.
  • Guide Consumers in modifying their coverage due to a life changing event.
  • Abide by reporting standards on Exchange related activities.
  • Conduct outreach activities at local events to educate Kentuckians about the Exchange.
  • Assist KHBE in working local community events to promote the Exchange.
  • Achieve a high level of consumer satisfaction.
  • Participate in IPA duties for the open enrollment periods on the Exchange.
  • Accept referrals from Navigators and Agents.
  • Provide access to oral interpretation of non-English languages to ensure meaningful access.
  • Provide services in a location that is accessible to those with disabilities and materials and other utilized tools to those with disabilities.
  • Ensure that an authorized representative is present for disabled individuals (when applicable).

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated work experience with health insurance plans preferred.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Demonstrated work experience with social service programs preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.

Franklin County Head Start The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Bus Driver/Assistant Teacher at their center in Franklin County. This position will be 40 hours per week. Individuals applying for this position must possess a valid driver’s license with a 5-year good driving record. CDL License is preferred, but not required. The CDL License can be obtained (in a reasonable amount of time) after employment. Senior Companion Program-Volunteers The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $3.00 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps.
