Job Summary:
The Aging Assistant is a multifaceted position including clerical work, bus driving, and nutrition prep. This person will assist the Director to maintain full awareness of programmatic goals and objectives. Responsibilities of the position include scheduling monthly and quarterly meetings, assist with documentation, coordinate services with transportation for program participants, enlisting volunteers and maintaining an accurate recording system, assist with home visits and bus driving, and assist with nutrition and kitchen duties to name a few.

Experience Qualifications:

  • Two years’ experience in social service programs preferred.
  • Ability to utilize resources and empower the aging population.
  • Respect to diversity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Provide proof of insurance

Job Summary:
The Senior Center Driver is Responsible for maintaining transportation routes as directed, along with vehicle logs and preventative maintenance schedules. The employee will perform daily maintenance, including gas, oil, and cleanliness. The position assures all senior riders needs are met in a safe and courteous manner and that each person is safely in their homes before leaving the residence. This person is responsible for meal delivery, as well as daily driving of the aging population.

MIGRANT HEAD START TEACHERS
JESSAMINE AND WOODFORD COUNTIES

The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Migrant Head Start Teacher in Jessamine and Woodford Counties. Starting pay is $13.00. CDA is required and can be obtained within one year of being hired. These positions will be 40 hours per week. Individuals applying for these positions must possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s license. Applicant is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and it is preferred that the applicant be bilingual (English/Spanish). Lead Teacher

Senior Companion Program-Volunteers The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $3.00 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps.
