Job Summary:

Ensure case record management compliance and data entry for Head Start Performance Standards and state licensing requirements related to Program Governance, ERSEA, Health, Family and Community Engagement, Disabilities, and Transition Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes paperwork and data entry necessary for enrollment, health, and other required components of Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements.
  • Assists in implementing enrollment, medical, dental, and mental health components of the program. Collaborate with parents to promote children's health and wellbeing by providing medical, oral, nutrition, and mental health education support services.
  • Responsible for informing parents of the screening process, and their responsibility in the procedure completed by Head Start.
  • Encourages direct line of communication with center staff and mobility coaches.
  • Performs other duties, which may on occasion be requested by a Site Supervisor to ensure the safety and welfare of the children.

  • Adheres to and fully understands the confidentiality procedure.
  • All positions in the Child Development Program are considered child safety sensitive and therefore employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening and submit to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the school year.
  • Must have six (6) hours of state approved orientation training within three months of employment.
  • Must have an additional fifteen (15) hours of training within three months of employment.
  • Participates in trainings, conferences, and meetings, as necessary.
  • Provide friendly, responsive service to the public, community organizations and to those we serve.
  • Maintain a respectful and positive attitude with low-income individuals and families with diverse background.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic databases.
  • Identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to follow and apply written and verbal instructions.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Preference is given to a Head Start parent/former parent or regular volunteer.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid Kentucky State Identification card or Driver’s License
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Flexible work schedule
  • An understanding of the community and its resources is desirable.
  • Must have initial physical exam including a negative TB skin test.

Salary Range – $24,960 - $29,120/year

Assistant Teachers

Senior Companion Program-Volunteers The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $3.00 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps.
