Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs energy savings measures including lighting, CO detectors, attic insulation (batts and blown), caulking, sealing, floor insulation, moisture control measures and weather stripping.
  • Ensures the proper use and maintenance of assigned program vehicles, tools and equipment.
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions.
  • Use effective customer service techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel required for 9 County Service Area – Anderson, Boyle, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Mercer, Scott, and Woodford Counties. Agency vehicles available to perform job duties.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Experience air sealing and blown-in cellulose insulation preferred.
  • Construction experience is a positive.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with working in tight spaces (attics, basements, crawlspaces).
  • Ability to read technical instruments.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and pass criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.

Assistant Teachers
Anderson, Franklin, Jessamine, Mercer, and Woodford Counties

The Blue Grass Head Start Program is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Teacher at our centers in Anderson, Franklin, Jessamine, and Woodford Counties. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour without a CDA or $12.50 per hour with a CDA. These positions will be 40 hours per week. Individuals applying for this position must possess a valid driver’s license with a 5-year good driving record. Applicant is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and it is preferred that the applicant also have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA). The CDA can be obtained after being hired. The Head Start Program will pay for initial physical examination including TB skin test for the applicant selected for the position. Applicant cannot have been convicted of a sex crime, child abuse, or neglect/922KAR 2:110 or any other felony. Lead Teacher
Franklin, Mercer, and Woodford County Head Start

Blue Grass Head Start is accepting applications for the position of Lead Teacher at our Franklin and Woodford County locations. Starting pay is $16.60 per hour with a BA/BS in Early Childhood Education. Applicants should also have experience in teaching preschool children. Senior Companion Program-Volunteers The Senior Companion Program is an opportunity for persons age 55 and older who meet federal income guidelines to render assistance with activities of daily living to older, homebound adults. As Senior Companions, volunteers assist clients for 20 hours per week and receive a tax-free stipend of $3.00 per hour. This income is not reported as income and will not affect entitlement programs such as food stamps.
